Christian Music Business Tips

For many years (yes, even a couple of decades!) I've had the honor of working with Christian Artists, Bands, and Worship Teams in the areas of Stage Performance Techniques and Music Business. We've worked together on elements of stage design, performance critiques, image, booking, management, and everything else it takes to get started in Christian Music Business.

When I was asked to design a mini-course for those just getting started in Christian Music Business, I realized that most have the aspiration of growing a ministry that can reach the world with the Gospel, but few have the knowledge they need to get started. I began to reflect on the many artists my techniques helped in the past.

For the sake of confidentiality, I will not be name-dropping, but I can assure you that if you're listening to Christian Music Radio, then every HOUR of every DAY, you've already heard and perhaps have seen MANY of the artists that have applied these specific performance and business principles which enhance communication, performance, and essentially they way the artists touch people who hear and love their music.

You might be asking yourself, "Do I really have what it takes to become a Christian Artist?" That's a VERY good question! The first thing I'd like to do is to break that down into some areas that you'll want to consider. You'll need to consider four different areas. Do this by asking yourself:

Do I have what it takes Musically?

Do I have what it takes Spiritually?

Do I have what it takes Physically?

Do I have what it takes Financially?

Do I have what it takes to understand the Principles of Music Business?

Begin by taking a frank look at each of the outlined areas. Don't be concerned if you find yourself lacking in a few areas. As lifelong learners there will ALWAYS be room for improvement! In future articles we'll take a look at each of these areas and dive deep into the details of Christian Music Business.
