It is a known fact that we are creatures of habit. The more comfortable we become with the habit the harder it is to break, good or bad. Well not completely true, the worst the habit the harder to break. The good things in our life seem to be the hardest things to stay true to. So what motivates us? The desire to obtain what we do not have. Sometimes it is the things that are just outside our reach, but we think they are impossible to reach. Sometimes it is the things that are staring us in the face, but we can not see them. The fact is that we fail to obtain what we truly desire. We end up settling for the next best thing. Instead of driving the BMW that you desire you drive the Nissan. Not that there is anything wrong with the Nissan, it's just that we settled.
We work our lives away, become slaves to the clock and what do we have to show for it. Well, we do have that Nissan and we do live in a nice house, but is that our true desire?
I know many people who do live in the house that they desire and do drive the cars that they desire. Just recently I had the opportunity to watch someone build the house of their dreams. And let me tell you that this is a house of houses. The house lacks nothing, from solid mahogany doors to a breathtaking stone waterfall flowing into a pool, and lets not forget the putting green. The person that built that home has worked very hard for a very long time and deserves that home, but why am I or you for that matter any different than that person. I have worked very hard in my life and deserve what I desire so what is stopping me? At this point nothing but myself. Since we are creatures of habit it's all about changing the way we think and learning to obtain what we truly desire and not settling for what we think we are worth. I could continue to be a slave to the clock, pay my bills each month and hope I have enough money for the vacation that is so needed or I could take control of my life, surround myself with like minded people (the ones that have what they desire) and start the plans for my dream home.
I know it all sounds good but it really is possible. I believe everything in life happens for a reason. Just recently I came across a magazine that has changed my life and that of my family. I am not the type of person that jumps at every little thing. I do my homework and this time it paid off. Not only did I find an opportunity that I love but I have found people that make all the difference in the world. You can have the best opportunity handed to you, but if you do not have someone to mentor you then it may be all for not. The person I am referring to is Dwayne Golden. The first time I spoke to Dwayne was on a conference call with about 50 other people. Before I knew it Dwayne was in my city doing an opportunity meeting for my group. Since that time I have attended workshops that Dwayne has in place and in a very short amount of time I have received a tremendous amount of value. Because I was able to see what was and is in front of me I have learned that I am worth everything that I desire. All we need are the right tools. Surrounding yourself with people who are motivated, excited about life and want to see you succeed rather than fail is a winning combination.
We all have dreams and goals but do we have the desire to make it all reality? You know the old saying, "show me your friends and I will show you your future." What does your future look like? I know the answer to that question how about you?
