Lemonade Diet - You'll Lose Weight But Is It Worth It?

The Lemonade diet is gaining popularity on the Internet as an easy way to detox and lose weight. The truth is the 'Lemonade Diet' is actually more of a crash diet / starvation system that supposedly purifies the body.

Here is an overview:

THE LEMONADE DIET is strictly a short term 'juice fast' diet concept that claims to be a healthy way to cleanse the body of toxins and lose weight. The length of the diet can be anywhere from 10-40 days depending on your needs. During the lemonade diet, your sole source of energy and nutrients will be from squeezed lemon juice, maple syrup ( grade - B maple syrup) and cayenne pepper. Laxatives are also a component of this diet in the form of a salt water flush and an herbal laxative tea taken each night. Consider that if you know you'll be on a long car ride while on this diet.

Most people can fast for a day or two but this diet calls for fasting for as much as 10 days - so you should definitely consider seeing your physician to see if it's safe for you before trying the Lemonade detox diet out!

Will you lose weight?

Probably, yes.

Anytime you restrict your body to 1200 calories a day you will most likely lose weight! Most adults burn around 2000 daily without actually exercising. So consider this diet as a very SHORT TERM solution to weight loss because it severely limits total nutritional intake.

As a short term solution you may lose weight but you'll probably gain it back because like most crash or fad diets the Lemonade detox diet doesn't consider the ROOT cause of weight gain. This diet puts your body into starvation mode and can actually produce many nasty side effects such as: dizziness, nausea, vomiting, fever, headaches, blurred vision and fatigue may occur while trying the lemonade diet. Is it worth it? Are you looking for a real lifestyle approach to losing 10-20-30 or more pounds AND keeping them off?

Forget the fads. It won't happen overnight.

Amazingly, people are losing 20-40 pounds slowly but surely using a sane approach that includes EATING LOTS OF REAL FOOD without counting calories. Visit the link below for more(see link)
